Rajganj, 21st May: The tribal communities of Rajganj today celebrated the first Sarna festival by undertaking religious programs and a peaceful procession. The procession started from Fakatiya More, under Mantadari Gram Panchayat, to Shimulguri, following which a prayer meeting was organized at Shimulguri.
Speaking at the festival, the members of the Sarna Puja Committee said that the unique languages, religion, and cultures of the tribals are on the verge of extinction following modern elements in the society. In this regard, the tribal society has taken this initiative to keep the culture alive through preservation and observation, thereby, organizing a procession today on the Sarna festival, aimed at spreading awareness among the people.
