Salugara forest department arrest four with segun wood

Siliguri, 18th January: Based on a tip-off, the Salugara forest department arrested four men and seized segun wood worth lakhs from their possession. The arrested accused have been identified as Uttam Nirola, Suraj Tamang, Sunil Darji, and Bipul Das. Out of them, two are residents of Siliguri and two are residents of Darjeeling.


 

As per the report, the forest workers seized two four-wheeler cars loaded with segun wood in front of Bengal Safari Park, last night.


According to the forest department, the market value of the recovered segun wood has been estimated to be around 5 lakh rupees. The timber was being transported from Kalimpong to Bihar. The arrested individuals were produced before the Siliguri court.
