Rajganj, 26th February: Due to continuous rainfall for the past two days, the residents of Sahudangi More in Rajganj are facing a lot of difficulties as the area is submerged under rainwater. The locals alleged that despite reporting the matter to the Gram Panchayat several times, no settlement has been provided yet.
Reportedly, the said area is the alternate route towards Siliguri and Jalpaiguri via Sahudangi and Ambari. As a result, a large number of vehicles ply through this route.
The local traders alleged that water has accumulated up to the knees due to which the pedestrians and students are facing a lot of difficulties. A written demand was also submitted to the Gram Panchayat Pradhan for the construction of a sewer, but no work has commenced yet.
In this regard, Gram Panchayat Pradhan Shashi Chandra Barman stated that plans are being made for the construction of a sewer in the area soon.
