India wins the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship title for a record-extending ninth time after defeating Kuwait in a tense penalty shot at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, on Tuesday.
Thanks to a save from the Indian team’s attempt by goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu who broke the tie after five rounds of penalty kicks. Subsequently, the entire team started to celebrate the nation’s victory. Meanwhile, Captain Sunil Chettri went around thanking the crowd for their support.
