Ruling party workers accused of planting party flags in Duare Sarkar camp of Ward no-45

Siliguri, 18th February: Duare Sarkar camp commenced in Baghajatin Colony Primary School grounds in Ward No. 45 along with other places in Siliguri. However, it has been alleged that the activists of the ruling party have set up a support camp and also planted party flags inside the camp premises. Following this, a controversy started around the incident.

Meanwhile, Siliguri sub-divisional officer Srinivas Venkatarao Patil reached the camp after receiving the news. He directed the party officials to immediately remove the party flags. He also instructed the administrative officials to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.

On the other hand, Munsi Nurul Islam, the winning CPIM candidate of Ward no-45, said, “It is unacceptable that a government project camp is being carried out with party flags. I have informed the matter to the municipal commissioner and to-be mayor Goutam Deb. The administration should look into the matter.”
