Siliguri, 15th March: Social activist Chaya Maitra from College Para, Siliguri donated Rs 5 lakh for the construction of a new building at Shri Shri Sudin Kumar Mitra Vidyapith in Raninagar, Jalpaiguri.
Built in Raninagar in 2018 under the aegis of Matrisangha Janakalyan Ashram, the English-medium school now has plans to expand the campus due to the increase in the number of students.
In support of the plan, Chaya Maitra handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the Matrisangha Janakalyan Ashram. She has done various social work in the past as well. The community worker visited the school recently and expressed delight in helping the students of the school.
