Siliguri, 18th July: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) demolished several illegally constructed houses in the railway premises in Rana Basti near Town Station in Ward No. 18 under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Tuesday.
According to reports, multiple complaints were lodged regarding the encroachment of railway properties and unauthorized construction of residences. Local residents alleged that the mafia had unlawfully occupied certain sections of railway land and established settlements there. In response, the RPF initiated a demolition drive. Furthermore, the residents in question were not present at the time of the raid.
