Siliguri, 19th December: The NJP police successfully foiled a robbery plot and arrested six individuals on Thursday night.
Reportedly, acting on a tip-off, plainclothes officers raided an open area in the Bhuttabari Shashanbasti locality under NJP police station, where a group had gathered for anti-social activities.
Although several suspects managed to escape, six people were caught on the spot. The arrested individuals have been identified as Subodh Mondal, Mithilesh Malakar, Krishna Singh, Vicky Singh, Amit Biswas, and Bipin Tanti. Sharp weapons were recovered from their possession.
The six arrested were produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Friday. Police continue to investigate the entire incident.
