Siliguri, 05th October: Bhakti Nagar police have successfully thwarted a robbery attempt by arresting two miscreants in the Sevoke Road area. The accused have been identified as Manish Shrivastava, a resident of Rajasthan, and Vishnu Sharma, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
According to police sources, the duo had devised a plan to execute a significant crime on Sevoke Road on Friday night. They had been summoned to carry out the operation, which was being coordinated behind the PC Mittal bus stand. However, undercover officers from Bhakti Nagar police station received a tip-off about the impending crime.
Upon receiving the information, the police swiftly launched an operation to apprehend the miscreants. While several members of the gang managed to flee the scene, Manish and Vishnu were taken into custody. The police recovered multiple weapons intended for the robbery from the arrested individuals.
Both accused were presented before the Jalpaiguri court on Saturday, and the police are currently engaged in further investigation into the incident.
