Islampur, 16th January: A marathon was organized today under the Road Safety Week by Islampur Traffic Police. More than two hundred participants took part in the run.
Islampur traffic OC Raymond Lohar was present during the event. Lohar said that apart from North Dinajpur, runners from several districts of North Bengal including Malda, Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling took part in the run.
Dulu Sarkar of Dhupguri secured the first place in the marathon, while Madhavi Barman of Dhupguri stood first in the women’s category.
