Siliguri, 04th November: Roads in Ward No. 05 of Siliguri are undergoing much-needed renovations ahead of Chhath Puja, bringing relief to local residents who have long awaited improvements in infrastructure. Residents are reportedly elated with the development.
According to reports, Road No. 02 in Ward No. 5 had been in poor condition for over 15 years, causing significant challenges for locals and devotees during Chhath Puja, when the road is used extensively to reach the ghat for rituals.
With concerns mounting over the inconvenience faced by the community, the decision to repair the road was prioritized to ensure safe and accessible passage for the upcoming festival.
Ward No. 05 Councilor Anita Mahato shared that several roads in the area had deteriorated over the years, and the repair work for Road No. 02 is finally being carried out through the efforts of the Municipal Corporation. She expressed her gratitude to Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb for supporting the initiative.
