Siliguri, 11th February: A youth was critically injured in a road accident on Burdwan Road in Siliguri on Wednesday morning. The injured has been identified as Vedant Agarwal, who is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.
According to sources, Vedant Agarwal had arrived in Siliguri from Kolkata on Tuesday and was staying at the residence of former Ward No. 9 councillor Pradeep Goel. On Wednesday morning, he left the house on a scooter. While travelling from Airview More towards Jhankar More, the accident occurred.
He sustained serious injuries, including a severe head injury. Local residents rescued him and rushed him to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
Police have seized a pickup van in connection with the incident and initiated an investigation.
