Siliguri, 09th December: A Bolero carrying labourers met with a severe accident while heading to a brick kiln in Nepal, resulting in one death and eight injuries, including children. The mishap occurred on Tuesday morning at Quarter More on the Asian Highway in Naxalbari.
Reportedly, the laborers from Cooch Behar were travelling to work at a brick kiln in Nepal when the Bolero collided with a stationary lorry at Quarter More and overturned into a roadside ditch.
Locals rushed to assist after hearing the crash, and Naxalbari police soon arrived at the scene to rescue the injured, who were first taken to Naxalbari Hospital. The deceased has been identified as Rasid Miya, the head labourer.
The injured were later transferred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for further treatment. Naxalbari police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
