Islampur, 16th May: Three people were severely injured in a lorry pickup van collision at NH 31 Dhantala area of Islampur Police Station in Uttar Dinajpur district.
According to local sources, a pickup van was on its way to Raiganj from Siliguri, during which, it hit a lorry from behind which was parked at NH 31 in the Dhantala area of Islampur police station. The van driver and two others were severely injured. Following this, the locals initiated a rescue operation.
Islampur police rushed to the spot and took the injured to Islampur Sub-divisional hospital. However, the identities of the injured have not yet been known. Police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
