Siliguri, 02nd August: A tragic road accident occurred at Mahananda Bridge in Siliguri, involving a passenger bus and a bike. The bike rider sustained severe injuries in the incident.
According to reports, the accident happened while the bus was traveling from Siliguri Junction towards Air View More. Due to brake failure, the bus rammed into the bike. The injured rider was promptly rescued and taken to a nursing home for treatment.
Meanwhile, the bus driver fled the scene immediately after the incident. In response to the accident, an angry crowd vandalized the bus.
Police have begun an investigation into the accident after seizing the bus with the help of a crane.
