Siliguri, 20th April: INTTUC State President Ritabrata Banerjee led a ‘Padayatra’ in Siliguri in support of Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Gopal Lama from Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency.
As per reports, on Saturday, Ritabrata Banerjee led a ‘Padyatra’ from Mallaguri to Hashmi Chowk (Venus More) in Siliguri. The ‘Padyatra’ witnessed the presence of large number of TMC leaders, workers, and supporters.
During the campaign, Ritabrata Banerjee stated that the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections would be held on April 26 in Raiganj, Balurghat and Darjeeling constituencies. As a result, the ‘Padyatra’ was held in support of Gopal Lama.
He added that based on the work of CM Mamata Banerjee’s governance, the party has appealed the citizens of Bengal to support TMC candidates. Further, Ritabrata Banerjee expressed optimism that the people of Darjeeling would support candidate Gopal Lama.
