Bagrakote, 14th January: The district administration has imposed a ban on taking photos and videos at the viral Loop Bridge in Bagrakote, located in the Dooars region. On Monday, the Kalimpong District Magistrate issued this directive regarding the bridge.
According to the instructions, vehicles are not allowed to stop within 500 meters before and after the bridge. Additionally, stopping vehicles to take photographs is strictly prohibited. The notice clearly states that these measures are being implemented for passenger safety.
Reportedly, the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited had requested the Kalimpong district administration to ensure that work on the ongoing Loop Bridge project proceeds smoothly and without any accidents. As a result, several precautionary steps have been taken.
Ever since its construction, the bridge has captured significant attention, with people flocking there in large numbers. Recently, a surge in individuals taking pictures or creating reels with the bridge in the background has caught the attention of authorities. Recently, an accident occurred at the site, further prompting action from the district administration.
As per the latest directive, the bridge will now be under police surveillance. The 500-meter area before and after the bridge will also be monitored closely. The bridge is now open solely for travel, and visitors are urged to avoid stopping for photos or videos.
