Bagdogra, 04th October: Residents from Lichu Bagan, Gadadhar Pally, Stalin Nagar, Ho-Chi-Min Nagar, and Rabindra Nagar protested with buckets in front of the Upper Bagdogra Gram Panchayat Office, demanding access to purified drinking water ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.

Local residents have complained of a drinking water crisis in several areas of Upper Bagdogra for nearly three years. Despite the installation of taps, they report that no water is coming through. Locals are calling for immediate restoration of drinking water services.

Local resident and BJP leader Priyanka Sarkar Mitra stated that the issue has persisted for over two and a half years in various areas. She mentioned that Upper Bagdogra Pradhan Sanjeev Sinha has been informed about the situation, yet it remains unresolved.

In response, Upper Bagdogra Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sanjeev Sinha remarked that those participating in the protest are affiliated with the BJP. He added that the central government project has a deadline of December 31 and assured that efforts are being made to address the water problem.
