Kalchini, 13th August: A significant demonstration took place outside the range office of the forest department as residents of Banabasti and neighbouring areas voiced their grievances. On Tuesday, a memorandum was presented to the range office by the residents of Banabasti, Adama, Raimatang, and Panavasti, located in the Kalchini block under the initiative of Uttarbanga Ban Shramjivi Manch.
Lal Singh Bhujel, convenor of the Ban Shramjivi Manch, asserted that the forest department’s actions were obstructing essential development work in forest areas. Such injustice would not be tolerated and thus they submitted memorandums to various offices within the department to address these concerns.
