Rajganj, 15th May: The residents of Laldas Jote area in Phansidewa block have been facing difficulties as they are being deprived of a proper drinking water facility for the past several years.
As per the information, more than a hundred families live in the Laldas Jote area adjacent to Fulbari Mahananda Barrage. Although a well has been set up in the village, enough water cannot be fetched during the summer season as the water tends to dry up inside.
The locals alleged that even though a water supply project was set up in the village around five years ago, no tap water facility was arranged. As a result, they are totally dependent on the Manananda river water for household purposes.
However, with the help of the BSF camp jawans, the residents were able to quench their thirst by fetching water from the army camp.
The locals further alleged that despite reporting the matter to the local Gram Panchayat several times, no solution has been provided yet.
