Rajganj, 07th June: After a 12-year-old girl tested COVID-19 positive in Fulbari -2 Gram Panchayat Jugivita area on Thursday, the area has been declared as a containment zone. However, the locals alleged that no barricades have been put up around the area and no process of sanitization has been initiated yet.
According to the locals, the patient’s family members have visited many houses in the area. Although the administration declared the area as a containment zone no necessary steps have been taken to prevent the spread of the virus.
Mithu Roy and Amiruddin Islam, residents of the area, stated that with no other choice left, the local youths used bleaching powder to sanitize the area.
Meanwhile, Gram Panchayat Pradhan Dilip Roy stated the matter is under the notice of the health department as well as the administration. Necessary steps will be taken in this regard after consultation with the block administration.
