Residents alarmed after burglars strike again on Netaji Road in Siliguri

Siliguri, 28th July: In yet another attempt at burglary on Netaji Road, thieves targeted the Subhashpally area under Ward No. 20 of SMC, causing widespread concern among local residents.


According to reports, the theft took place on Friday night when miscreants took advantage of an empty house to steal electrical wires, cooking utensils, a television, and other valuables. However, 24 hours later, another burglary was reported at a nearby convenient store.

On Sunday morning, the shop owner found out about the theft upon opening the store and discovered that items worth approximately Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 were stolen.


The local ward councillor and police authorities immediately arrived at the scene. Police officials have assured that efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits soon. Meanwhile, the residents are gripped with concern over the multiple attempts of theft in the area. At present, the police officials are engaged in a thorough investigation of the entire incident.
