Siliguri, 26th January: In the wake of the 75th year of Republic Day, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police celebrated the day with pomp along with the entire nation. On this day, a ceremony was organized at the grounds of the Siliguri Police Commissionerate while the event began after the hoisting of the national flag by Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar.
According to reports, the event was followed by a grand parade where the police, Railway Protection Force (RAF), and NCC cadets from several schools including Siliguri College actively participated. Meanwhile, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police showcased their strength through the parade.
Additionally, various cultural programs were organized in the event where VIP bulletproof vehicles and other such items were exhibited. In addition, an awareness tableau was created to raise awareness among the general public regarding the prevention of child marriage, child trafficking, and human trafficking all the while promoting ‘Safe Drive Save Life’.
