Repeated flight cancellations trigger passenger outrage at Bagdogra airport

Bagdogra, 04th December: Severe inconvenience hit air travellers after the same Indigo flight from Bagdogra to Bengaluru was cancelled for two consecutive days, triggering strong protests from stranded passengers at the airport.

According to passengers, the flight was scheduled to depart at 12.30 p.m. on Wednesday, and boarding had already been completed when the sudden cancellation was announced.

Although fresh tickets were issued for Thursday, passengers were once again informed after reaching the airport that the flight had been cancelled for the second time. Authorities are now offering tickets for 06th December or refunds, but passengers alleged that hefty cancellation charges are being deducted from the refund amount.

Several passengers complained that some were travelling for medical treatment while others had important job interviews scheduled in Bengaluru. Repeated cancellations, they said, have caused serious personal and professional setbacks. Passengers further alleged that no clear explanation is being provided by the airport authorities regarding the repeated cancellations.

No official statement was available from the airport authorities at the time of report.
