Siliguri, 03rd January: In yet another incident of suspected adulterated eggs, a local alleged of consuming patties containing ‘plastic eggs’. The incident led to a widespread commotion on Wednesday in the Eastern Bypass area of Siliguri.
According to reports, a young man purchased egg patties from a nearby eatery and discovered something out of the ordinary while consuming the food. Suspicious, the man removed the egg from the patties and burned it in the fire when it emitted the odour of burnt plastic. Panic triggered the residents as they concluded that the eggs in the patties being purchased were made of plastic.
In response, the seller of the patties expressed his shock concerning the incident. He added that the egg patties were acquired from other stores and sold. The incident will be reported to the shop where the patties were purchased.
