Siliguri, 28th May: In a heart-warming gesture, Niranjan Sarkar, a trader of the Siliguri Ward No. 6 area, decided not to celebrate Jamai Sashti but instead handed over ration to the ward’s fruit seller who recently fought with COVID-19.
As per the report, Sarkar handed over ration and a variety of fruits to the family in the presence of Khalpara outpost OC Sandip Dutta.
In this context, the fruit seller stated that his entire family has been victims of social discrimination ever since he got infected with the virus. He further stated that with no source of income, they are living under severe crisis. However, after Sarkar helped him today, He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to him.
