Siliguri, 10th September: Preparations for 54th Durga Puja of Rathkhola Nabin Sangha started with Khamba Puja (pillar worship) today. The Puja theme is ‘Eso Mukta Karo Maa’ (literal meaning: come and free us from suffering mother).
Tarak Sarkar, secretary of the Puja Committee, said that various social activities are carried out during the puja days every year. Initiatives are being taken to give free vaccines to the needy.
