Rangapani train accident site in Siliguri turns into major tourist attraction

Siliguri, 20th June: The location of the recent tragic train accident near Rangapani in Siliguri has now become a tourist spot, drawing crowds from various places.


Notably, the accident occurred when a freight train collided with the Kanchanjunga Express from behind near Chhota Nirmaljote, resulting in the loss of 11 lives and several injuries. At present, efforts are underway to clear the site and restore normalcy under the supervision of GRP and RPF personnel.

As per reports, the area has become a hotspot for visitors and tourists since the incident unfolded. Visitors from different places far away are seen gathering to the site to witness where the tragic incident occurred. In addition, several individuals are capturing the scene with selfies and videos, creating reels to share on social media platforms.


Soyet Alam from Islampur of the Uttar Dinajpur district, expressed that after watching the news coverage of the accident he wanted to visit the site. Furthermore, Mohammad Khalim, a local resident, expressed that he had rushed to the scene on the time of the incident. However, contrary to the scene that day, people are now gathering to see the accident site.
