Jalpaiguri, 24th March: Various programs are being organized to mark World Tuberculosis Day. As part of the observance, the Tuberculosis Department of the Jalpaiguri District Health Department organized a rally on Monday. Several officials from the Health Department actively participated in the event.
World Tuberculosis Day is observed annually on March 24, commemorating the discovery of tuberculosis by Robert Koch in 1882. This year, the day is being celebrated across all blocks of Jalpaiguri district with awareness initiatives.
The rally saw the participation of District Tuberculosis Department Officer Dr. Subhadeep Sarkar, along with other health department employees. The primary objective of the event was to raise public awareness and strengthen efforts to eradicate tuberculosis.
