Rajganj, 14th January: Dipankar Roy, a fourth-grade student of Votepara BFP School in Binnaguri Gram Panchayat, Rajganj, secured first place in both the 100-meter and 200-meter races at the state-level athletics competition, setting a remarkable record. To honor his achievement, Trinamool Congress leaders visited his home during the party’s yatra program in Binnaguri Gram Panchayat and felicitated him.
The felicitation was attended by Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad member Ranbir Majumdar, Sadar Block Trinamool Congress president Arjun Das, Binnaguri Gram Panchayat head Samijuddin Ahmed, youth co-vice president Asim Jyoti Barman, and local Trinamool leaders Tushar Dutta and Bijoy Das among others.
The 41st state-level athletics competition for primary schools and early childhood education centers was held on 16th of December at Banipur, Kolkata. Despite coming from a humble background, Dipankar’s consistent effort and talent helped him achieve first place in both sprint events.
His family, teachers, and neighbors expressed pride in his accomplishment, noting that his success is likely to inspire many other young students in the region to pursue sports with dedication.
