Rajganj, 14th January: Dipankar Roy of Rajganj created a remarkable achievement by securing first place in both the 100-metre and 200-metre races at a state-level sports competition. In recognition of his success, he was felicitated by Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy.
The felicitation ceremony was held on Monday at the playground of Votepara Primary School. Apart from the MLA, Rajganj Panchayat Samiti president Rupali Dey Sarkar, Panchayat Samiti member Sarbani Dhara, Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samijuddin Ahmed, along with teachers and local residents, were present at the event to honour the young athlete.
According to sources, the 41st state-level sports competition for primary schools and Shishu Shiksha Kendras was held on December 16 at Banipur in Kolkata. Dipankar Roy, a Class IV student of Votapara BFP School under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat, participated in the competition and clinched first place in both the 100-metre and 200-metre sprint events, bringing pride to Rajganj and the district.
