Rajganj Trinamool Mahila Congress holds procession demanding ‘Aparajita’ bill be made a law

Rajganj, 30th November: The Rajganj Trinamool Mahila Congress organized a procession on Saturday, demanding that the ‘Aparajita’ bill, passed by the state assembly, be made a law to ensure women’s safety.

The procession began from School Para in Rajganj and ended at the local post office. It saw significant participation from Trinamool Congress workers and supporters. Along with the procession, a joining meeting was held, during which 57 families left the CPI(M) and BJP to join the Trinamool Congress.

In a statement, Trinamool Congress Rajganj Block President Arindam Banerjee emphasized that on September 4, the state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee passed the ‘Aparajita’ bill, aimed at protecting women and children, in the assembly. He added that, despite being sent to the Lok Sabha, the bill has not yet become law due to the central government’s reluctance. The procession was held to demand that the bill be enacted into law for the protection of women.
