Rajganj, 18th August: A python was caught in a fishing net, causing a stir in Piplatala Colony of Jaldumur Para under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj block. The python, measuring nearly 7 feet, was later rescued safely.
According to sources, a local resident had set her net in the Sahu River on Sunday as usual. On Monday morning, instead of fish, she discovered a large python trapped in it. The Forest Department was immediately informed, following which officials from Dabgram Range reached the spot and rescued the snake.
Forest officials confirmed that the python is completely healthy and will be released back into the forest.
