Rajganj, 09th May: Rajganj Police apprehended and arrested an individual named Abdul Karim (24), with banned cough syrup in his possession. The accused is a resident of Dangapara area under Sanyasikata Gram Panchayat.
According to reports, on Monday evening, based on a tip-off, Rajganj police apprehended Abdul, riding a bike without a number plate in the area near Bhudugach Tea Estate, under Sanyasikata Gram Panchayat, Rajganj. Subsequently, upon searching, 154 bottles of banned cough syrup were recovered from his possession for which he was arrested and the bike was seized.
Police sources revealed that the accused was attempting to smuggle the banned cough syrup. Today, the accused has been produced before the Jalpaiguri District Court, while police are engaged in further investigation.
