Rajganj, 15th January: More than 100 supporters from the BJP and other political parties joined the Trinamool Congress at a joining programme held on Thursday in the Sukani area of Rajganj block.
The programme was organised by the Sukani regional unit of the Trinamool Congress at the Mahanpara ground.
Supporters from the Sukani gram panchayat area formally joined the party, with Trinamool Congress flags handed over to them by Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy.
Among those present at the event were Rajganj block Trinamool Congress president Arindam Banerjee, block Mahila Trinamool Congress chairperson Sarbani Dhara, block youth president Niladri Bose, along with Raju Sahani, Farzan Ali and other party leaders and workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajganj block Trinamool Congress president Arindam Banerjee said that the party’s “Unnayaner Sanglap Yatra” is currently underway across the Assembly constituency. After conducting programmes booth-wise in various areas of the Sukani gram panchayat, the joining meeting was organised at Mahanpara ground.
He said that people are being inspired by the development work of the Trinamool Congress and are joining the party in large numbers from different political backgrounds. Around 110 people joined the party on Thursday, and more people from other areas are expected to join in the coming days, he added.
