Rajganj, 28th January: Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy laid the foundation stone for constructing a new bridge over the Talma River in Belakoba. Rajganj Panchayat Samiti President Rupali Dey Sarkar, Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman, Zilla Parishad Karmadhyaksh Mahua Gope, and other public representatives were present during the event.
According to reports, on Sunday, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy accompanied by Sabhadhipati of Zilla Parishad, Krishna Roy Barman, laid the foundation stone of the construction work of the bridge. The bridge will be constructed over the Talma River in the Patilabasha area under Shikarpur Gram Panchayat of Belakoba in Rajganj block. Reportedly, the bridge is being constructed at an estimated budget of about Rs 12 crore with the assistance of Public Works Department (PWD) funding.
In this regard, MLA Khageswar Roy stated that the bridge was constructed during the reign of the Left party (CPIM) and has been in a dilapidated condition for a prolonged time. As a result, heavy vehicles were unable to commute from the bridge. Significantly, the foundation stone has been laid on this day for the construction of the bridge which will be highly beneficial for the residents of the area.
