Rajganj, 12th October: Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy and Gajoldoba Development Authority (GDA) Vice Chairman laid the foundation stone for the beautification of Devi Chaudhurani and Bhavani Pathak Mandir and other developmental works. The work will be completed with the financial support of GDA. The program witnessed the presence of GDA Executive Officer Piyush Salonke, Rajganj Block Development Officer (BDO) Pankaj Konar, Panchayat Samiti President Rupali Dey, and public representatives.
According to reports, this temple located in Shikarpur of Rajganj block of Jalpaiguri district has historical importance and is over 200 years old. Several people visit the temple having religious intentions. In 2018, the temple was engulfed in fire. Later, the temple and idols were rebuilt by the state government.
Speaking in this regard, MLA Khageswar Roy stated that the GDA will provide arrangements for the boundary wall of the temple, temple gate along with solar lights, and seating arrangements for the visitors coming to the temple. He added that approximately 92 lakh has been allocated for this project.
