Rajganj, 30th May: A devastating fire ignited in the kitchen of a residence engulfed the entire house on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 11 pm in a residence located in Dangapara near Fatapukur in Rajganj. Fortunately, no individuals were present inside the house at the time of the blaze.
As per details gathered, the local residents spotted the fire and doused it. Later, the fire officials arrived at the scene and took the matter into their hands. Meanwhile, the fire had caused a significant damage as all the utensils and furniture in the kitchen was reduced to ashes. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have originated from a short circuit.
As stated by the homemaker, she was away at a relative’s place during the incident while her husband, Shyamal Barman, suffered from a mental condition and was often wandering outside the house. Upon receiving news of the fire, Barman rushed home and witnessed the devastation that had occurred. The family, now undergoing a severe loss, appealed for government’s assistance to rebuild their house.
