Rajganj block administration launches campaign to reclaim encroached government land

Gajoldoba, 02nd July: The Rajganj block administration has initiated a campaign to reclaim encroached government land, freeing several bighas near a bridge in Rajganj block on Tuesday. The administration also installed a government land board to mark the reclaimed area. The encroached land was reportedly occupied by a leader from Siliguri.


The operation follows the directives of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has instructed the administration to clear encroachments on government land across the state. Recently, the Rajganj block administration identified multiple encroached government lands in the Gajoldoba area.

Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman, Rajganj Land and Land Reform Officer Sukhen Roy, and other officials were present to install the government land board. Sukhen Roy stated that a total of 1 acre and 33 D (Decimals) of land were identified and marked with the government board in the area adjacent to Gajoldoba.
