Rajganj, 04th January: On Thursday, Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman embarked on an operation to the Dharagachh area, uprooted the pillars encroaching on the land, and demolished a residence.
According to reports, the land mafias have occupied several bighas of government land along the Karatoya River in the Dharagachh area of Majhiali Gram Panchayat. Subsequently, Rajganj BDO raided the area and demolished a tin house unlawfully constructed along with boundary. Meanwhile, upon receiving the news, the Majhiali Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sumit Dutta and the cops of Ambari Outpost arrived at the spot.
Speaking in this regard, BDO Prashant Barman stated that he had received several complaints of encroachment on the said land prompting the raid. Significantly, about 30-35 bigha of land was attempted to be occupied by certain individuals who are currently under the hunt. Furthermore, he has made an appeal to the police to investigate further into the matter. In addition, legal action has been cautioned against those who are involved in this illegal activity.
