Naxalbari, 18th August: The Trinamool Congress of Naxalbari Block 2 staged a sit-in protest demanding the arrest and execution of those responsible for the rape and murder of the doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College. On Sunday, party workers and supporters gathered for the protest at the Panighata More in Naxalbari.
Block President Prithvish Roy stated that the Chief Minister has been calling for the perpetrators’ punishment since the first day of the incident. Although the Calcutta High Court has ordered a CBI investigation, the administration has not yet apprehended any additional suspects despite 130 hours having passed. The Chief Minister has given the CBI a deadline to quickly identify and ensure the execution of the accused criminals.
