Siliguri, 14th August: In response to the nationwide strike by doctors over the R.G. Kar Medical College incident, O.P.D. services have been suspended across government hospitals and nursing homes.
Since earlier on Wednesday, doctors have halted O.P.D. services at Siliguri District Hospital and North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). Patients arriving at these hospitals have had to return without receiving care. However, emergency services continue to operate as usual. Notably, on Tuesday, the High Court ordered a CBI investigation into the R.G. Kar case.
