Siliguri, 02nd February: In the fight against drug use in the city, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police have been continuously working to track down peddlers and kingpins of drug rackets. During one such operation, the cops of SOG, Bhaktinagar and NJP police stations, in a joint operation, arrested 4 men with more than 500 grams of brown sugar from two different areas of the city. The market value of the seized drugs is said to be around a crore rupees.
Speaking in this regard, ADCP Shubhendra Kumar said that 3 of the accused were arrested with about 300 grams of brown sugar from the Bhaktinagar area. Out of which, two are from Salugara and one from Malda. At the same time, under the campaign in the NJP area, 1 was arrested with about 250 grams of brown sugar. The arrested accused is a resident of Murshidabad.
