PUBG Corporation to resolve the issue with Indian Government

A week after the Indian Government banned of PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite in India due to threats to national security, the South Korea-based PUBG Corporation in a statement said that the has made the decision to no longer authorize the PUBG MOBILE franchise to Chinese tech Tencent Games in India.

“It hopes to work hand-in-hand with the Indian government to find a solution that will allow gamers to once again drop into the battlegrounds while being fully compliant with Indian laws and
regulations,” the statement read.

The PUBG Corporation added the company is actively monitoring the situation around the recent bans and fully understands and respects the measures taken by the government. It further added
that the privacy and security of player data is a top priority for the company, however, it hopes to resolve the matter and allow gamers to once again “drop into the battlegrounds”.

After deciding to pull the plug on Tencent Games, PUBG Corporation will take on all publishing responsibilities within the country and will explore ways to provide its own PUBG experience for India in the near future.

The move comes after the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps earlier in June this year. The government then issued a second ban to include 47 more apps in July and, earlier this month,
released a third order to include 118 more apps including PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite.
