Protests staged by locals in Ward No. 41 under SMC

Siliguri, 25th February: The residents of Ward No. 41 under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation staged a protest, this morning, alleging that they are deprived of all the facilities, dumping of garbage in the streets and that the roads and sewers are not maintained properly. The locals accused that the Ward Councillor had conducted no developmental works for the past five years. Ratan Debnath, a resident of the area, stated that no developmental work was being conducted in Ward No. 41 of Siliguri. He further stated that the people of the Ward staged a protest by gheraoing the Ward Councillor, today. On the other hand, Councillor Ravi Das stated that development work was underway in the area, and added that it was only a matter of time before the tender for the road and drain will be passed.
