Siliguri, 19th July: The people who came to get vaccinated started protesting outside the health centre in Natunpara in Ward no. 05 of Siliguri, on Monday. The protestors alleged that although they managed to get the first dose of Covaxin, non of the health centres have the second dose of the vaccine. Meanwhile, the agitated people also gheraoed the Khalpara outpost police officials upon their arrival.
Some demonstrators alleged that they had taken the first dose of Covaxin from a health centre in Natunpara last June. After 28 days, they were told to go to a health centre in Champasari to get the second dose of the vaccine. When they went to the designated centre, they did not get vaccinated. Following this, the people burst into anger. and several demonstrators have been protesting outside Natunpara Health Center since morning.
