Siliguri, 29th June: Several people who had arrived to get vaccinated at Matri Sadan in Ward No. 23 protested as the vaccination did not start at the allotted time despite standing in queues for a long time.
People complained that they waited in line to receive their shot from 4 am to 11 am, however, the health workers did not arrive. Furthermore, a notification was issued mentioning that 120 people will be vaccinated, but the tokens were not given as per the guidelines. Besides, they complained that work was not being done as per the government deadline.
As the uproar escalated, the Siliguri police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
