Phansidewa, 23rd December: Protests were held in Phansidewa against the killing of Dipu Das in Bangladesh, with members of the Bangiya Hindu Jagaran Mancha staging a demonstration near the Indo-Bangladesh border.
As part of the protest, a rally was first taken out, followed by the burning of an effigy of Muhammad Yunus adorned with a garland of shoes.
A nearly five-kilometre-long protest march was carried out from Mahipal Jote village to Phansidewa Bazaar, during which slogans condemning the incident were raised.
Several members of the Sanatani community participated in the demonstration.
Speaking on the occasion, Bangiya Hindu Jagaran Mancha member Hiranmay Goswami said that people must raise their voices and protest against such injustices instead of remaining silent.
