Siliguri, 17th December: In the ongoing fight for justice in the R.G. Kar case, the organizations ‘The Night is Ours’ and ‘Citizens for Justice’ have called for a protest at the CBI office in Siliguri on December 20. The announcement was made during a press conference held at Baghajatin Park in Siliguri on Tuesday.
Lutaka Khatun, a member of the organization, stated that the state government and local authorities have been attempting to cover up the R.G. Kar incident. She emphasized that several accused in the rape and murder case had come to light, and the police were forced to arrest them due to the pressure of the protests. However, she expressed disappointment that the accused, Sandip Ghosh and Abhijit Mandal, had been granted bail, which has left the victim’s family in distress.
As a result, the organizations are planning to intensify their efforts. On December 20, a protest march is scheduled to commence from Baghajatin Park in Siliguri to the CBI office. The leaders have called upon the public to join the march in their demand for justice.
