Siliguri, 12th September: Sensation prevailed in the entire city after the audio clip of a telephonic conversation between a professor and a student was leaked. One can clearly hear the professor demanding a bribe to help the student of Siliguri College secure passing grade in her examination.
Various speculations surfaced from the city regarding the identification of the said professor. Meanwhile, the student from whom the money was demanded has already lodged a complaint at the Siliguri College and North Bengal University in this regards.
Condemning the incident, Trinamool Chhatra Parishad, the student wing of All India Trinamool Congress, staged a protest in front of the said college today.
TMCP District President Nirnaya Sarkar and TMCP leader Abhijeet Banerjee claimed that the voice in the audio clip is of Amitava Kanjilal. They further asserted that earlier too a number of charges had been levelled against Kanjilal. The Trinamool leaders demanded termination and strict action against the accused professor.
Meanwhile, Amitava Kanjilal has denied all allegations and claimed that such accusations are being made to defame him.
